planning to go back home?"
Pearl was surprised. "How did you know | was planning to go back?"
Luther gave a small smile, but his expression was strained, and only his lips moved, which looked strange. "I told
you, there's nothing | don't know."
Pearl hesitated, then approached him. "Yes, | am going back, and | wanted to tell you that." Luther looked up and
leaned back on the couch. "Why? Do you think | would try to stop you?" Pearl scoffed. "Am | wrong to think
that?"
"I want to keep you close," Luther said, moving his wrists. "I don't want someone like you becoming my rival."
Pearl wasn't surprised by his words. She knew Luther wanted to keep her close because of her capabilities. Not
