Chapter 1383

Nina looked up and asked, "Can we fix this? Won't you treatlike before?"

Luther shook his head. "No."

"If you don't want to be together, | just want us to be siblings..." Nina was taken aback by his response and felt

compelled to compromise.

Luther simply said, "Nina, let it go. This is over."

"No, this isn't over." Nina smirked. It was all because of this woman! Before she arrived, Luther would never have

spoken to her like this.

Nina pulled a knife from her belt and dashed toward Pearl with incredible speed!

Pearl couldn't react in time, and the knife almost reached her chest. She closed her eyes, bracing for the pain.

But it never came. Opening her eyes, she saw Luther had stepped in front of her, his hand tightly gripping the

blade. Blood began to drip through his fingers as he started sweating. Nina was shocked by the turn of events

and quickly released the knife. "Why did you get in the way? | didn't mean to hurt you..."

The bloody knife clattered to the ground ominously.

Without wasting a moment, Pearl removed her jacket, tore a strip of cloth, and wrapped it around his wound to

slow the bleeding. "Why would you do something so foolish as to jump in front of the knife?"

"She's my sister, and | failed to raise her right, so | deserve this," Luther explained.

As Luther's face grew pale, Pearl paused, then added, "I see now that you're a man of principles."

Luther turned to Nina, who was in a panic. "Are you done, Nina?" Despite his injury, he still sounded

domineering.

Nina was in tears, regretting that her actions had hurt Luther instead of Pearl.

Seeing Luther clutch his hand in pain, she felt overwhelmed with guilt. This was her fault. He wouldn't have been

injured if not for her.

Distraught, she glanced at the sea, then ran off barefooted.
