Chapter 471 Douglass Arrives Charlotte, Julius, Diana, and Barrett walked in.
Barrett took out a limited edition Barbie doll and handed it to Mabel. "Little princess, happy birthday." Mabel smiled, "Thank you, Mr. Lynch!" "Not bad for a little princess, sweet-talker. Letask you, who's more handsome,or his dad?" Barrett pointed at Julius.
"Of course, you're the most handsome!" Mabel said, holding the large box in her arms with a serious expression on her cute face.
Barrett was delighted by the compliment and went back to Diana's side.
Diana also gave Mabel her gift. It was a four-leaf clover bracelet.

Barrett, watching, felt a bit anxious.
He hadn't kissed Diana yet! But he only dared to feel anxious inside, because since their wedding day, Diana had made it very clear to him. Their marriage was a business deal, no emotions involved. They would live together but in separate rooms. He had to cooperate with her when necessary, but otherwise, he wasn't allowed to get too close to her. She had made everything clear.
It was a marriage that felt like a transaction.
But he had agreed because he didn't want to miss out.
Now that they were married, what if love developed? What if she ended up liking him, just like he liked her? Barrett had always been optimistic and firmly believed he would win Diana's heart in the end.
The table was filled with various dishes that Evie had pre-ordered and had delivered to the venue.
In the center was a two-tier cake. Mabel sat in the middle, and Evie lit all the candles before turning off the lights in the room.
"Little princess, make a wish!" Evie said.
Mabel closed her eyes, her cute, innocent face full of seriousness.
After a moment, she opened her eyes and blew out the candles! The crowd clapped and cheered as the birthday song began. Just then, the door to the private room opened. Everyone turned to look, and a tall man wearing a black patterned mask entered. He looked at the decorations and then at Mabet, who was wearing a crown. Douglass raised an eyebrow slightly.
"So today is Mabel's birthday. I'm late, but happy birthday, Mabel." He walked forward and, in the puzzled gaze of the crowd, took out a gift box.

Douglass smiled slightly and said in a calm tone, "I cto wish Mabel a happy birthday. I don't have any other intentions." There were a lot of people in the room, and Evie didn't want to say too much, so she replied, "Thank you, but you don't need to bring a gift."
Douglass, however, said, "This gift is for Mabel. It seems you don't have the right to refuse it." He turned to Mabel, his tone softening. "Mabel, happy birthday."
Mabel blinked her big eyes, looked at Evie, and then said, "Mr. Mendez, thank you! I'm already so happy that you cto wisha happy birthday. I don't need the gift, though." Douglass let out a small laugh. "You've learned from your mother, haven't you? Since the gift is for you, you should take it. You can't refuse." Charlotte and Diana exchanged glances. They all knew that the man was Mabel's biological father.
He didn't know Mabel's true identity. He was only interested in Evie.
Douglass wore a black patterned mask that covered the upper half of his face, revealing only his lips and jawline. He wore a simple black shirt and pants, but despite the simplicity, the aura of wealth surrounding him was unmistakable. His every gesture exuded the dignity of someone in a high position, and just one look from him made the air feel heavy. He was a very dangerous man.
Seeing him in person, Charlotte finally understood why Evie was so wary of him.
