Kale pushed Debra into the car and placed a blindfold over her eyes.
Debra frowned. “Is this necessary?”
“Yes it i
Drake replied from the side. “You're too clever for your own good. | can’t risk. you outsmartingagain.
Prevention is better than cure.”
Debra sighed and put on the blindfold. She didn’t need to see. She already knew that Drake had bought a villa in

“What are you planning to do with Debra?”
“Miss Bernard, you've achieved your goal. Why do you still care about her life or death?”
“Are you going to kill her?”
If Debra returned to Marion alive, all her efforts today would be in vain.
Drake raised an eyebrow. “Do you want her to live or die?”
The question caught Cathryn off guard. She hesitated, unsure of how to answer.
She had never taken a life before. But if she let Debra live, she would never have a chance

Just kill me.”
“I'm asking Miss Bernard, not you,” Drake said coldly. “Your life is in my hands. You don’t get to choose.”
Turning back to Cathryn, he said, “Since you can’t decide, I'll do it...”
Cathryn blurted out, “Death. | want her dead.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Cathryn realized the gravity of what she had said. This was the first time
she had held someone's life in her hands. The feeling of having the power of life and death was overwhelming.
Debra smiled faintly, “Mr. Lowe, did you hear that? Miss Bernard wantsdead. What are we waiting for?”

Drake glared at her. “Do you really have a death wish?”
Debra shrugged. “I've suffered enough from the drugs. Killingwould be a mercy.” “Then why didn’t you ask
Marion to kill you?” Drake asked, his voice laced with suspicion.
“| couldn’t bear to. Now that I'm in your hands, you can killwithout him having to go through that pain. And
he will avenge me,” Debra explained.
“Nice try,” Drake scoffed. “You wantto kill you and then have Marion killin retaliation. You're quite the
strategist.”
Cathryn picked up on the underlying meaning in Drake's words. She asked nervously, What do you mean? You're
not going to kill her?”
“Well, I've done what | promised. What happens to Debra from now on is none of your concern. | hope you
understand that,” Drake said.
