No Ads Chapter 153 Chapter 153 Izzy pushed open the door to her office, only to stop short at the sight that greeted her. Calen stood by the window, arms crossed, his gaze fixed on the city skyline outside. The sunlight streaming in cast shadows across his face, accentuating the tension in his posture. The air in the room was thick, almost suffocating. Did he already hear about what she jud did? Sensing her presense, Calen's eyes flicked over his shoulder. "You're late," he said flatly, the words cutting through the silence. "I've been calling you but you- you couldn't even answer my calls. What if it's an emergency? What if your presence is needed?" Izzy arched a brow, ignoring the accusation as she turned to Anna instead. "Didn't I tell you not to let anyone into my office while I'm gone?" she asked, her tone even.

Anna bit her lip, glancing between them. "I apologize, Miss Rossi, but Mr. Weiss-" "I am your direct head, Izzy," Calen cut in smoothly, turning fully to face her. His suit was immaculate as always, not a crease out of place. "I have the right to stay in your office whenever I want." Izzy snorted softly, unimpressed. Without sparing him another glance, she stepped forward, placed her bag on the table, and began organizing the scattered files with a calm, practiced efficiency. Since Calen had already claimed her seat behind the desk, she didn't bother trying to sit. "Why are you here? If you need anything, we can always communicate through emails." Calen's eyes narrowed further, irritation flickering briefly across his face. His fingers drummed once against his arm. He let the silence stretch for a moment longer before speaking.

"You already know why I'm here," he said, his voice tight. "I need you to debrief all the staff working on the Macau project." Izzy didn't pause in flipping through the stack of papers. "That's your job," she replied coolly.

Calen's jaw clenched. “You were managing them before,” he snapped. “They'll listen to you. So, you'll say whatever I tell you to say." Izzy's lips twitched faintly with amusement, but she didn't look up. “That's not in my contract,” she said lightly, sliding a folder into place.

Calen scoffed, his glare darkening. "I get it," he muttered. "You're angry that my father took the project away from you. But do you really have to be this petty? Can't you show a bit of professionalism? People will suffer because of you, Izzy. Can you really do this?" Izzy finally straightened, meeting his glare with an icy stare of her own. "Following what my contract states is professional," she countered without batting an eyelid. "If you have other concerns, feel free to take it up with HR." Calen's fists clenched at his sides, eyes flashing with barely restrained anger. "Are you serious right now?" he demanded, his voice rising slightly. "What do you think you're doing, huh? Being petty like this is only going to ruin the project!" Izzy's expression didn't waver. "That's no longer my concern,” she said simply, brushing an invisible speck of dust off her sleeve.

Calen's teeth ground together audibly. Before he could spit out another retort, a knock sounded at the door, cutting through the tension. Both turned as CEO Weiss's secretary stepped inside, clipboard clutched tightly to her chest.

"Miss Rossi," the secretary said hesitantly, eyes darting nervously between them. "CEO Weiss would like to see you in his office. Immediately." Izzy's eyes glinted with something cold and amused. "Of course," she said, her tone light. Without sparing Calen a second glance, she grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder with practiced ease.

She moved past him, heels clicking against the polished floor, posture relaxed and unbothered. The door swung shut behind 1/3 Chapter 153 her with a soft click, leaving Calen alone in the office, fists clenched and eyes burning with frustration "Damn it," he muttered under his breath, a scowl twisting his features.

Renard Weiss stood behind his desk, fingers pressed tightly against the dark mahogany surface, eyes fixed on the document in front of him. The sunlight filtering through the blinds cast harsh lines across his face, accentuating the dark circles beneath his eyes and the tightness in his jaw. The office was silent, save for the faint hum of the city beyond the glass windows.

He exhaled slowly, nostrils flaring as he stared at the single sheet of paper-a resignation letter, crisp and nearly timed What the hell was Izzy thinking? A knock sounded at the door. Renard's eyes immediately flicked up, narrowing slightly. "Cin," he bit out.

The door opened smoothly, and Izzy stepped inside. She paused briefly at the threshold before making her way forward She stopped a few steps from the desk.

Renard wasted no time. He lifted the paper between two fingers. "What is the meaning of this?" he demanded, the paper crinkling slightly in his grip.

Izzy's eyes dropped to the resignation letter, then back to Renard's face without a flicker of hesitation. "Exactly what it say she replied.

"A resignation?" he ground out. “You're leaving?" "Yes," Izzy said. After yesterday, Izzy had decided to finally leave this company for good.

Renard's fingers clenched tighter around the paper. "This is about Calen taking over the Macau Project, isn't it?" he mapped "You're doing this because you're upset." Izzy arched a brow, unimpressed. "Calen is the Vice President of this company," she pointed our “He doesn't need my guidance. He needs yours. I don't think I have the right to be upset about anything, sir." Renard's expression darkened further, fingers flexing against the letter. Izzy never called him sir in the past. Why was the using the word now? Was it to separate herself from the Weiss Company? He drew in a slow breath, visibly reining in his temper. "Calen still needs you," he said sharply. "You've been handling the Macau Project for months-he can't just take without guidance." "Then I suggest you guide him,” she smiled. “Besides, Calen is already familiar with everything. I am certain that he would do well even without me." "This is because I made Calen the lead,” he muttered, more to himself than to her. His gaze snapped back to Izzy, eyes hard. "I knew you'd be hurt by the decision, but I did it for the company. You need to understand that.” "I do," Izzy replied smoothly, folding her hands behind her back. "That's why I've decided to leave." Renard's fingers stilled against the paper. His eyes narrowed. "Izzy, you're seriously doing this?" he demanded. "Walking out because of one decision?" It's not about one decision, Izzy thought inwardly as she met his glare with a steady gaze. "I have already made my decision. sir." "You're being unreasonable," he snapped. "Do you think the board will accept this? They'll see it as you abandoning the project-abandoning the company!"

"I've already submitted my reports and transferred everything to Calen," she said, her lips quivering faintly. The thought of it still made her a bit upset, but what else could she do? "The project is in excellent hands, isn't it?" 2/3 11:04 Wed, 5 Mar MOO.

Chapter 153 "Don't get smart with me, Izzy,” he growled, his gaze darkening. “Do you even realize what you're doing?" "Perfectly," Izzy replied.

The silence that followed was cold and sharp. Renard's hands shook slightly, fingers flexing against must the paper, before he threw it down the desk with a quiet snarl. He onto sucked in a breath, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You're making a mistake, and you know that," he muttered. "This-walking out like this-it's impulsive."

Izzy glanced at the letter on the desk, then back at Renard with a faint, almost indifferent looki ferent look I disagree," she said evenly. "But thank you for the opportunity. I will never forget what I learned from the company... what I learned from you." 3/3 AD mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1 mmMwWLliIofifl0&1 mmMwWLlilofiflo&1
