Chapter 146

“Here's all the information we could find about Mr. Horvath.” Felicity’s personal assistant handed her a tablet as

the car started moving.

(413)

Felicity took it without a word, her nails tapping against the smooth screen as she scanned the document. She

had done her research before meeting Liam, but clearly, she hadn't done enough. She had underestimated just

how infuriatingly direct he could be.

She scrolled past the basic details-his full name, date of birth, and known assets-until she reached the part that

mattered.

Education: University of London, first-class honors in Business and Finance.

Felicity tilted her head. “He studied in London?”

“Yes,” her assistant confirmed. “Graduated at the top of his class. But instead of joining his family’s business, he

founded his own company at twenty-three.”

Felicity’s lips pressed together. That explained a lot. Most men in his position would have ridden on their family’s

wealth, taken an executive position in an already established company, and lived comfortably without having to

build something of their own.

But not Liam Horvath.

[000 0 0000 000000000

She continued reading.

Founder & CEO of Horvath Industries.

First major acquisition at twenty-four.

Beca millionaire at twenty-five.

Listed in the Top 30 Most Promising Entrepreneurs under 30 in Europe.

Felicity exhaled sharply. That was fast.

Most businessmen, even those from wealthy families, took decades to build an empire. Yet Liam had done it in

under five years, without relying on his grandfather's legacy.

Her assistant hesitated before speaking. “If | may, Miss Covington... | don’t think a man like Liam Horvath would

hand over a company just because someone asks.”

Felicity’s grip on the tablet tightened slightly.

She had already learned that the hard way. She had assumed he might offer her something in return for a date

or sflirtation that would end up in bed. She wouldn't have minded-men were men, after all. Beasts by

nature.

But she wasn’t done yet.

“What else?” she asked.

Her assistant scrolled through the report. “He’s highly private. No confirmed relationships, no scandals, no

unnecessary media presence. He keeps everything tightly controlled. His employees are loyal, and none of his

partners have spoken against him.”

Felicity narrowed her eyes slightly. “And weaknesses?”

The assistant paused. “None that we could find.”

Chapter 146

Felicity clicked her tongue in irritation.

Everyone had a weakness.

She just needed to figure out what Liam Horvath’s was,

“However.” Her assistant hesitated.

“However, what?”

(C13)

“Well, he has been photographed with a woman multiple times. | did sresearch, and the woman is actually a

childhood friend of his-Miss Isabella Rossi,”

“Rossi?”

“Yes, from the Rossi Group. However, for sreason, she’s not working with the company. There were some

rumors about Miss Rossi and Mr. Horvath, but none of them can be confirmed. Although... there is a possibility

that the two are living together or in the sbuilding.”

Felicity’s eyes flickered over the name. Isabella Rossi,

It wasn’t uncommon for wealthy men to keep their relationships private, especially when announcing them

wouldn't bring any advantage. If Liam and this Isabella were together, it made sense that there were no public

confirmations. Srich men valued their privacy over publicity, and from what she had gathered about Liam

Horvath, he wasn’t the type to flaunt anything personal.

Still, if this woman was important to him, then she might be useful.

She tapped her manicured nails against the tablet. “Dig deeper into Isabella Rossi. | want to know everything-her

background, her connections, where she spends her time, and what her relationship with Horvath really is. Also...

| need to know if she had sproblems that we can help her with.” If this woman is somehow relevant to Mr.

Horvath then she could be useful in this game.

Her assistant nodded. “I'll get started on that.”

Before Felicity could say anything else, the assistant’s phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen and hesitated.

“It’s your father. He wants you to cto the company immediately.”

Felicity snorted.

Of course, he did.

She already knew what this was about. Her father had been scrambling to keep Covington Holdings afloat, and in

his desperation, he had started reaching out to every powerful bachelor in his network. He wasn’t calling her to

discuss business. He was calling because he was trying to marry her off.

She exhaled slowly, gripping the tablet a little tighter. It wasn’t the first the had tried, and it wouldn't be the

last.

“Don’t answer,” she said. “And from now on, ignore calls from both my father and my brother.”

Her assistant hesitated before nodding. “Understood.”

Felicity turned her gaze back to the city lights flashing past the car window.

Her father was running out of options.

But so was she.

And she wasn’t going to let herself becsbargaining chip in his desperate attempt to save the company.

Met

Meanwhile, teabella’s expression darkened as she scrolled through the files on Frederik Vasili.

His personal life was exactly what she had expected-messy, scandalous, and full of high-profile affairs. He was

just th he was a man who collected beautiful women like trophies.

Models, actresses, Olympic athletes-the list was extensive enough to fill an entire page.

Izzy frowned. This wasn’t surprising. What was surprising was that not a single woman had spoken bastly abor

him.

Most men with his reputation eventually had at least one ex-lover willing to expose them. But Frederik? to a

single complaint. No ugly breakups. No bitter accusations.

If anything, most of these women seemed to have parted with him on good terms.

She scrolled past the gossip, uninterested in whatever charm he had that kept women from trashing his name.

She work here to read about his conquests. She needed to know what kind of threat he was.

Skipping to the next section, she focused on the Vasili family.

Her eyes landed on the nof Frederik’s father-Leonid Vasili.

A well-known investor, Leonid Vasili had built an empire through strategic acquisitions and long-term

invesments. He had expanded his reach across multiple industries-tech, pharmaceuticals, luxury goods. His

portfowas vest, spanning from New York to Moscow, and his influence stretched far beyond what was publicly

acknowledged.

Izzy's eyes narrowed slightly. That's why Frederik had roots in both the U.S. and Russia.

Leonid Vasili had married a Russian woman to solidify his presence in Eastern Europe. A calculated anove. It

allowed him to maneuver through the complexities of Russian business while maintaining his power in the West.

This wasn’t a family that thrived on luck.

They thrived on control.

Izzy's fingers tapped against the screen as she processed the information.

Frederik wasn’t just srich playboy getting in her way. He cfrom a family that built their legacy by

making over whatever they set their sights on.

She exhaled sharply and set the tablet aside.

Something about him felt off.

And the more she learned, the more that feeling grew.
