Felicity Covington stepped into the office with effortless grace, a practiced smile curving her lips. Tall, slender,
and strikingly beautiful, her presence commanded attention. With her golden blonde hair falling in perfect waves
over her shoulders and piercing blue eyes, she had the kind of beauty that made heads turn. Her tailored navy
dress hugged her figure just right, and as she moved, she carried an air of confidence that was impossible to
ignore.
To anyone else, she was breathtaking.
Liam, however, barely spared her a glance before frowning.
He leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping once against his desk. “Why are you here, Miss Covington?”
Felicity’s smile didn’t falter. Instead, she stepped further into the room, placing a perfectly manicured hand on
the back of the chair across from him. “I was hoping to invite you to a gala.”
Liam's eyes narrowed. “This is the important matter you wanted to discuss?”
Felicity simply smiled, as if amused by his reaction. She took her tsettling into the chair, crossing one long
leg over the other in a way that subtly emphasized the slit in her dress. The movement was slow, deliberate-
designed to draw attention.
Liam, unimpressed, glanced back at his screen.
He wasn’t blind to what she was trying to do. Felicity Covington wasn’t just any socialite-she was the eldest
daughter of the CEO of Covington Holdings and one of its largest shareholders. He had expected her visit to be
about business, possibly slast-minute negotiation regarding the takeover.
But no.
She was here to invite him to a damn gala.
His fingers drummed against the desk once before he exhaled sharply. “If you're looking for someone to escort
you, I'm sure you have plenty of friends to call.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFelicity chuckled softly, shifting slightly in her seat, her leg brushing against the edge of his desk. “But none of
them are you, Mr. Horvath.”
Liam snorted. “And that should mean something to me?”
Felicity tilted her head, studying him as if he were spuzzle she intended to solve. “It means | always get
what | want.”
Liam held her gaze, unimpressed. “Then you're about to be disappointed.”
Felicity’s smile didn’t fade, but something in her eyes sharpened.
She was persistent.
“Mondo, send her out,” Liam said.
“Wait!” Felicity said. She knew that Liam was very difficult with other people. She'd done her research prior to
coming here and had prepared in advance for situations like this. “I originally wanted to wait for the gala to talk
about this, but it seems that Mr. Horvath cannot wait.”
Liam's fingers hovered over his keyboard, already prepared to end this conversation, but Felicity leaned forward,
her expression shifting.

“I originally planned to discuss this at the gala,” she said smoothly, “but I didn’t know that Mr. Horvath is
currently occupied with something important. For that, | apologize.”
Liam glanced at her, unimpressed. “If you have something to say, say it.”
Felicity crossed her legs again, adjusting the hem of her dress. “I know you want Covington Holdings.”
Liam didn’t react, but his eyes flickered with interest.
She smiled. “And I'm here to help you get it.”
Now, that was something worth listening to.
Liam leaned back in his chair, watching her carefully. “And why would you do that?”
Felicity’s nails tapped lightly against the armrest. “Because, in return, | want something from you.”
Liam raised an eyebrow.
“I want to be the next CEO of Covington Holdings,” she added.
Silence stretched between them for a few minutes as Liam studied her carefully, waiting for the punchline. When
it didn’t come, he exhaled through his nose. “You expectto hand you control of a multi-billion-dollar
company in exchange for what? Helpingconvince your father to sign a deal?”
Felicity’s lips curled slightly. “Oh, I won't just convince him. I'll make sure he signs.”
Liam tapped a finger against his desk. “And how do you plan to do that?”
Felicity’s expression darkened slightly. “My father has always favored my younger brother. He believes only men
should inherit the family business.” She leaned back against the chair, arms crossing over her chest. “It didn’t
matter that | worked harder. That | was smarter. That | cared more about the company than my brother ever
did.” Her gaze sharpened. “He never even considered me.”
Liam tilted his head. “So this is about proving him wrong?”
Felicity’s fingers curled slightly against her arm. “It’s about proving everyone wrong.”
Liam lifted an eyebrow. “And what are your qualifications?”
Felicity blinked. “What?”
Liam leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. “You're askingto put you in charge of a corporation
worth billions. So, I'm asking-what are your qualifications?”
Felicity hesitated for the first time.
Liam waited.
She straightened her shoulders. “I graduated from a prestigious university in France.”
Liam nodded slowly. “And?”
“I studied... fashion.”
Liam's fingers paused mid-tap against the desk.
She quickly added, “At one of the best schools in the world.”

Liam exhaled sharply, tilting his head. “And your background in finance?”
Felicity’s jaw tensed.
Liam's lips twitched. “Marketing?”
Her fingers clenched slightly against the chair.
Liam leaned back, a ghost of a smirk forming. “You wantto hand you an empire built on industry, logistics,
and financial investments... when your expertise is in fashion?”
Felicity’s face remained composed, but he could see the flicker of frustration in her eyes.
Liam shook his head. “Miss Covington, | don’t hand out power just because someone wants it.”
Felicity’s nails pressed into the fabric of her dress. “I can learn.”
Liam looked at her for a long moment before chuckling under his breath. “Good luck with that.” Felicity’s posture
stiffened. She wasn’t used to being dismissed so easily.
But Liam was already done with this conversation.
“I am going to help you acquire the company. Without my help, my father would never-"
Liam shook his head. “Miss Covington, | don’t mean to be rude, but you are currently wasting my time.” This
woman was taking his taway from more important matters.
Hearing the annoyance in Liam's voice, Felicity suddenly got up. “I have never met anyone as rude as you, Mr.
Horvath. This conversation has been... eye-opening, to say the least.”
“Thank you. I'm taking that as a compliment,” Liam responded without batting an eyelid. “I believe you already
know the way out. Mondo doesn’t need to see you out.”
