“You knew, didn’t you?” Ella squinted.
“Yes, | do.”
Stephanie didn’t even blink. “Yeah.”
Ella gasped. “Holy shit-it’s really his kid? Then what's he doing stringing Lilian along?”
The Hodges weren't exactly known for their open-mindedness.
A secret baby? With srandom woman? That was the kind of thing that could nuke an entire engagement.
Stephanie leaned back in her chair. “Long story. The kid’s mom used to work VIP at Velvet.”

Stephanie snorted. “Please. You think a guy like Tyler's capable of giving a damn?”
He was just looking for a good tand ended up with a permanent souvenir.
“The woman didn’t even show up until the kid turned one, cknocking with a DNA test and everything. Too
bad for her, the Harts slammed the door right in her face.”
Ella shook her head, equal parts horrified and impressed. “And you've been sitting on all this?”
Stephanie smirked. “Why waste premium tea on people who don’t deserve it?”
Yep, that was just how Stephanie rolled-not the type to gossip, and definitely not the type to flex.
If she was, Ella would've heard long ago that her stucleared over two million last year.
But with Stephanie, if no one ask, she wasn’t about to volunteer.
Ella stabbed her salad. “You know Lilian’s gonna blow a gasket if she finds out, right? And Jackson?”
The second Ella thought about Jackson, she couldn't help but laugh. Tyler had to be out of his damn mind.
Of all the messy crap he could've gotten into, he really went and chose this?
“That man’s gonna straight-up bury Tyler alive.”
Stephanie’s grin went full devil-mode. “That girl's no amateur.”
“No way she lets this slide,” Ella agreed. “And if she finds out Tyler's about to marry into the Hodges? She's

Stephanie ended the call, shaking her head with a half-smile. “Can you believe | almost forgot about her? Been
so damn swamped lately.”
If Sebastian hadn't shown up, this whole mess probably would've kicked off already.
