Chapter 1158
People around nodded, getting the gist of it all. Mike turned his gaze to Flora, torn about what to do. On one
hand, letting her skip the outdoor training seemed unfair, but the wild could be risky, and he sure didn't want
anything happening to her. If it did, the Rivers and Woods families would have his neck. "Flora, it's your call
whether to join or not. But if you ask me, maybe it's best to-" he trailed off. Sure, it was favoritism, but who could
blhim given her influential connections?
Luiz and the others shot Flora envious looks. Dodging the training was like hitting the jackpot! They wished they
could do the same.
But Flora shook her head. "I'll join." Outdoor training was no biggie for her. Plus, Selene and her crew weren't
exactly fighters, and the wilderness could spell trouble for them. She'd feel better tagging along to keep an eye

Mr. Tanner had been kind to her, and she wanted to return the favor by looking out for his students.
"Alright then," Mike sighed. If she was set on going, he'd just have to make sure she had extra protection.
After leaving Mike's office, Flora headed back to the villa. She and Connor were gearing up to disarm a bomb.
Connor had already set aside a bomb disposal suit for her, instructing, "Just hang back and lethandle this,

"Mr. Connor, you're sellingshort," Flora teased, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Your fiancée has quite a

"I know you're amazing," Connor chuckled, playfully tapping her nose.
As night descended, they quietly navigated every nook of the medical base. Moss and Beck had already
stationed their team there, greeting them respectfully. "Boss, Ms. Flora, we've secured the area. No one's getting
in or out."
"Good," Connor nodded, slipping on his gloves. He gently told Flora, "Stay put here. Moss and Beck will keep an

With that, Connor moved on. "Don't worry, Ms. Flora. Our boss is a whiz
at bomb disposal!" Becke
her with a grin. "Watch him nail it."

These bombs stood no chance!
Flora knew Connor preferred her to stay out of it, so she did. But she kept watch, ready to jump in if needed.
Seeing him deftly disable several bombs, she finally breathed easy.
Connor worked fast. In under an hour, he'd almost cleared the place of explosives, while the team behind him
filled in the gaps.
Initially, Flora's eyes were glued to Connor, but gradually, a peculiar scent caught her attention. It was faint, but
she noticed it.
"Is something wrong?" Connor asked, catching the concern on her face.
"I can't quite put my finger on it, but something feels off."
