Chapter 221
The Boleyn family, Desmond was playing games on the couch.
He heard the sound of a car entering the yard, and soon saw Carlton cin.
He quickly got up to greet Carlton, looking obedient and respectful.
Carlton saw him and frowned, "You're out of the hospital?"
Desmond nodded, "Yes, | cback yesterday afternoon, you weren't here at that time."
When he got up in the morning, Carlton wasn't there either.
Carlton nodded, not saying much, but spoke earnestly, "Be more careful in the future. You're an adult now, you
shouldn't be distracted while driving."
"Yes." Desmond looked humble and teachable.
"Where did you cback from?" Desmond asked ingratiatingly.
Gabriel had told him to get closer to Carlton, which couldn't hurt.
No matter what, he was still his grandson.
Carlton sat on the couch and sighed slightly, "I went to the hospital to see Katniss."
Desmond was surprised, "What happened to her?"
Of course, he was just curious.
Carlton glanced at him with disdain, "You don't know? Katniss was kidnapped by that bastard Simon and got
injured, she's in the hospital."
He knew about the kidnapping, but not about the injury and hospitalization, no one had told him.
But it didn't seem to concern him.
Desmond quickly gave an awkward smile, "I just got out of the hospital, | really didn't know."
Carlton snorted coldly, said nothing more, and closed his eyes to rest on the couch, looking like he didn't want to
be disturbed.
Desmond stood there for a moment, then seemed to think of something and turned to the underground garage,

He went straight to Maximilian's office, wearing a gentle and obedient smile, "I heard that Katniss is in the
hospital? Is she seriously injured? Should | go visit her too?"
Maximilian looked up and coldly refused, "No need!"
"We're all relatives, Carlton has been there, it wouldn't look good if | didn't go." Desmond looked sincere, "I know
| was disrespectful to her before. But don't worry, | know | was wrong. | want to go apologize this time."
Maximilian leaned back in his chair, expressionless, "Don't pretend in front of me!"
"And..." Maximilian paused, "Aren't you grounded? What, not listening to me?"
Desmond shook his head, "No, | just forgot in a moment of urgency."
Maximilian snorted coldly, tapped his desk with his fingers, and said lightly, "I'll lift your grounding, but if you do
it again, | won't be lenient."
Desmond looked grateful, "Then... the credit card..."
That was his real purpose for coming here.
He didn't really want to visit Katniss, but as long as he achieved his goal, pretending was fine.
Maximilian's dark eyes were cold, "Three months later, depending on your behavior." Desmond looked
disappointed, "This..."
Seeing this, Maximilian's face showed dissatisfaction, "What, does the Boleyn family lack food or drink for you?
Can't live without a credit card?"
Desmond quickly denied, "No, no."
"If there's nothing else, leave." Maximilian said, continuing to look at the documents in his hand.

Desmond knew Maximilian hated being disturbed while working, he had probably already exhausted his
patience.
He felt a surge of frustration, with no outlet.
When would he becthe true master of the Boleyn family? Being suppressed by Maximilian was really
unpleasant.
He had been stifled during his recent hospital stay.
Couldn't eat this, couldn't do that.
But without a credit card, he couldn't go anywhere to have fun.
Although his father used to give him money, he never had the idea of saving, now he was really broke.
He needed to get smoney.
Downtown, high-end beauty salon.
Desmond was led to the VIP room by the staff, where Emily was lying on a beauty bed getting a treatment.
"What's the matter?" Seeing Desmond cin, Emily asked gently, "You sounded rushed on the phone."
Desmond smiled, took a sip of the coffee the staff had made, and slowly said, "Nothing, | just missed you and
wanted to see you."
Emily sighed, "I know you too well. Tell me, did Carlton or Maximilian give you a hard time?"
Sure enough, his mother guessed right.
Desmond complained, "Maximilian is really unkind. It's just a credit card, but he won't give it back, saying he'll
see my behavior in three months and only then restore it." Emily was secretly angry.
Maximilian was deliberately taking the opportunity to retaliate.

But now she had a high-end mask on her face and couldn't make too many expressions.
She could only say, "Don't worry, Mom has money, I'll give you some. Your dad gave
Desmond felt a bit bitter, he knew Emily had a hard twith Carlton.
She had endured many hardships before, and although they had money now, she still planned ahead, trying to
get sthings from Carlton and save them in case of any future emergencies.
"No need." Desmond refused, "I'll endure, three months will pass quickly."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe didn't believe he couldn't live without the Boleyn family's money.
So, in front of Emily, he arranged a gathering with his friends.
After hanging up, Desmond proudly showed off to Emily, "Mom, see? | have friends
who would do anything for me. At worst, I'll treat them in three months."
Emily felt comforted, but thinking of his recent car accident, she said, "Remember, if you drink, get a driver. Or
better yet, don't drive at all, okay?"
Desmond, still shaken, didn't dare to.
Otherwise, Maximilian would punish him even more severely.
Maximilian was really scary, he didn't dare face his anger.
He used to have a bad leg, looking cold but always sickly. Now that his leg was better,
his presence was even more intimidating.
Thinking of Maximilian's cold face, Desmond felt uneasy.
He quickly went to have fun with his friends to shake off his recent misfortune.
He had just driven out when his phone rang.
It was Clara calling.
He drove with one hand and answered the phone with the other, "Hello, Clara... what's
wrong? Are you crying? Who bullied you... don't cry, where are you... wait, I'll cfind
you."
